The end of the year is fast approaching. People are already talking about their holiday plans. I’ve made my plane reservations to see family.
I’ve also starting talking to my clients about remembering to recognize their employees this year. We’ve all had to tighten our belts for the last several years and employees are doing more than one job these days as their co-workers are not being replaced as fast when they leave. It’s stressful. And we all need to make sure our employees understand that they are appreciated.
Sometimes it’s just a simple good job, but a more concrete show appreciation really does have a more lasting value. Maybe at the end of the year event you recognize top employees with an award or plaque. Or maybe this is the time of the year for bonuses.
If it’s not in your budget right now, maybe think about a 1st quarter recognition or mid-year. It’s never too late to start. And it doesn’t have to be expensive. It’s the thought that counts. Showing your employees that you did notice!
It’s also a good time of year to think about other programs you may want to initiate next year. One of our clients is starting a wellness program. We’ve already developed the logo and T-shirt for those that participate and are currently reviewing logo’d items for those that reach certain levels.
It’s not too late, so think about what you want to do differently next year and let’s talk!
