I don’t know about you but I am ready for this year to be over. It’s not that it has been a bad year by any means, it’s just that I am ready to start fresh again.

Now, I know I could start fresh now. But actually I can’t as I have so much reorganizing to be done.

At the end of each year we go through all of our samples and donate all that are discontinued to charity. Our primary charity is Pace Center for Girls Miami. An amazing organization that truly saves girls lives through education and counseling in a strength-based environment. They are encouraged to journal every day and we have lots of those to donate this year. We also have pens, pencils, notebooks, tote bags and backpacks to name a few of the items.

So, if you are going to be cleaning out at the end of the year (or anytime for that matter) I highly recommend finding an organization to support.  We’ve also given to the Education Fund over the years. They have a big warehouse where teachers can go in search of donated supplies to use in their classrooms.  They love old stationery (have a name change recently?), binders and other supplies that helps them not spend their precious budgets on essentials.

And that year-end clean out doesn’t have to stop at the office. I looked at my closet this morning and shook my head at how much I know is in there that I didn’t wear this year. It is definitely time for a major clean out there as well.
There are many great organizations that will gladly accept your gently worn apparel. Goodwill of course, Dress for Success and so many more.

And my parents just recently installed new toilets in their home and the old ones were donated to Habitat for Humanity along with a couple of chairs they no longer used.

I know many of you do the same thing, but we can always use a gentle reminder. I’ve found that giving even just a little helps so many.

Happy Holidays!
